Remember the “old” normal ?
I guess only the people who are Gen X or older, would have enough of a frame of reference to know that this “New Normal” thing really sucks. I guess for the youngsters out there, I will try to paint a picture of what I mean.
It was the mid 1980’s and simple things like Billabong Jackets, and Walkmans, were the items on the wish list of most kids. The Internet was still just a D.A.R.P.A. project, and if you wanted to see, or talk to a friend, ya just had to call them, or go to their house. Then you had to knock on the front door, and probably talk to their parents before you even got to see your friend. That is if you got to see them at all. There was a thing that happened back then called discipline. If a kid got in trouble for nearly anything, from bad grades to fighting, their parents would ground them, often to one specific room. It could last for days, or in some cases a few weeks. The craziest part, was that the kids couldn't call the cops on their parents back then if they got their ass whipped with a belt. It was unthinkable, because the cops would have just laughed.
Then there was also the fact that there was way less racism in the 1980’s and 90’s. Don't get me wrong, racists people existed in the 1980’s. But you only saw it on the news back then when it was an election year. Also suburban kids, at least where I grew up in Florida, didn't have race labels in front of their names, or feel the need to put pronouns after them. For example, if you had a friend who was black, and their name was James, you could just say “This is James” when you introduced him to others. You didn't have to say “This is black James, who uses He/him pronouns.” I know it's mind bending now, but people in the 1980’s could figure out what race, and gender a person was just by seeing them. Oh and the real kicker, there were gay and lesbian people back then.
The only people who have ever been loud and outspoken about these topics, are the 1% on each end of the debate.
In order to bring any semblance of normality back, we may have to revert back to the societal structure of the 1980’s. We need to bring back shaming, and name calling. Perhaps even bring back spanking in school, and do away with all forms of participation trophies.
When people say obnoxiously stupid things, we need to let them know exactly how idiotic they sound.

The Network News Is 99% Responsible.
Sure, the 1% of the loudest voices on social media do have an effect on social trends, but not like CNN, MSNBC, and ABC News. It is also not a coincidence that the one and only Anderson (Vanderbilt) Cooper has trained his whole life to propagandize on a mass scale. Don't believe me, just look at his very extensive education in political sciences, that spilled over from Yale University, to his 2 year internship at the CIA. Unfortunately Mr. Cooper is not the only Ivy League graduate to grace the public airwaves with political propaganda that can only be classified as “factually inaccurate”.
Other lead anchors, and prominent news personalities like Rachel Maddow, and The Morning Joe’s very own Joe Scarborough, also have an extensive history in spewing similarly fake news. Then this hodge podge of idiocy created by each one, gets regurgitated by their counterparts at the other networks. This created a “fact check circle” that went on for nearly the last 9 years. One where literal fake news could be confirmed as factual, simply by citing each other as a reliable source. Remember the Russia Russia Russia Hoax, pulled off by the current presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton?
The scandals that Hillary has “allegedly” been involved in, stretch clear back to the Watergate Scandal, and Nixon. Her superiors on that case had some choice words about her ethics as a lawyer, politician, and an American.
How have American politicians gotten so corrupt, and dishonest? How did we get so far from the plans and dreams of the American founding fathers?
The answer to both of those questions, is the very same one. We let it happen. We let politicians who have been known to be ethically bankrupt, and totally dishonest go on keeping their positions of power for far too long. They have done their damnedest to convince us that we as Americans are simple minded. They have made us believe that we need them, simply to tell us what is best for us. Not all of us, there have always been groups who were not able to be programmed with these newly emergent nepo-social beliefs.
We as social beings have always had a need for basic government. What I mean by that is regional defense, and National defense. Other than that, we only need them for the care of some Federal infrastructure, a few military bases, some roads, and a bit of National Park land. Literally every other need we have as a people can be handled locally, and should be. There is no reason that federal tax dollars should be going to other countries, when we have Americans with basic needs that aren't being met.
How Do We Get Back To Normal ?
The answer is far more simple than most people would imagine.
Get back to normal.
Keep it that way.
Turn off the digital device in your hand after reading this, to start the process.
Then go figure out what is in season, and plant something that will provide you with some truly organic food, and save you money. Work on breaking away from consumerism. Sure, we can't grow or make everything we need, but with little steps in the right direction… we can move mountains over time.
Don't worry folks, the old Norm will welcome you back. It's far better than the progress they have been ramming down our throats with a plunger handle. Lies like women are being arrested for having a miscarriage, or an ectopic pregnancy.
