What Does Glyphosate, (Roundup®) Do To Us?
The FDA, and USDA, both approved it to be used as a drying agent on most oats, grains, and produce.
Let's not beat around the bush here, it's poison used to kill certain plants. Yet somehow the US regulatory agencies in charge of food safety, have approved this poison as being allowable for human consumption. Not directly, but by proxy through allowing it to be sprayed directly on some food products pre and post harvest.
We now have plenty of studies showing the increased risk of cancer, but that leaves out an entire world of categories of other chronic ailments. Then there is also a profound list of other internal injuries. Monsanto, the prior parent company of Roundup, before the acquisition by Bayer, were forced to settle the injury cases involving certain cancers.
Now that Bayer owns these brands, new and quite damning information has been coming forward about the other effects and ailments caused by Glyphosate. The next big lawsuit will likely involve the facts in these new medical studies, and will likely become another class action when more victims bring forth their horrifying claims.
But don't take my word for it, let's just ask some hard to stomach questions, and then let these medical studies speak for themselves.
For those unfamiliar with my writing, the cited medical studies are linked below, along with any other relevant sources.
Does Roundup® cause or increase risk of acute, or chronic pancreatitis?
There is evidence that exposure to glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, can increase the risk of pancreatitis: [1, 2, 3]
Exposure-response effect
Studies have shown that the risk of disease increases with the amount of time a person is exposed to glyphosate. [2]
Meaning, anyone with prolonged or repetitive exposure to the chemicals in Roundup are at risk. It also means that the more they used it and had contact with it, the higher their percentage of risk and also severity of illness.
Animal studies
In tests on rats and mice, animals exposed to glyphosate developed pancreatic adenoma. [3]
What is a pancreatic adenoma?
A rare, benign tumor of the pancreas characterized by variable number and size of the cysts lined with glycogen rich epithelial cells. Clinical manifestation may include epigastric or abdominal pain, weight loss, diabetes, jaundice and palpable abdominal mass.
Clinical studies
One study found that the prevalence of acute pancreatitis in patients poisoned by exposure or ingestion to glyphosate was 6.5%. [1] To put that in perspective, the average rate among the general public is roughly 0.08%, and it's so low that it is nearly undetected in many small organic farm communities like the Amish.
Other health effects of glyphosate exposure include: Gastrointestinal ailments, along with Immunosuppression, and Neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioral alterations. [4]
The list of health issues that fall under the umbrella of “gastrointestinal ailments” include things like crones disease, colitis, and paralysis of the colon, bowels, and sphincter. The blanket of neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioral alterations include ADHD, ADD, Asperger's, Tourette syndrome, and several other disorders often diagnosed under the over generalized and over used Spectrum of Autism.
These studies are going to be used as absolutely damning evidence one day, when it comes to the future lawsuits against these manufacturers.
However, an Emory University study that was founded and funded by the subsidiaries of the parent company Monsanto that previously owned Roundup®, ironically found there to be “no consistent pattern of positive associations between glyphosate exposure and total cancer or any site-specific cancer.” [3] Their study did not search for any other illnesses, just cancer.
Guess which study the FDA used . .
Soon you will likely see an endless variety of those new class action commercials on TV….
“Were you a farm worker or landscaper between 1985 and 2024, if so you may have been exposed to Glyphosate. If you were, and since the date of exposure have been diagnosed with any of the following please contact an attorney.
Acute Pancreatitis
Chronic Pancreatitis
Pancreatic Cysts
Gall Bladder Damage
Gluten Allergies
Other gastrointestinal or digestive issues.
Autism
Anxiety
Panic Disorders
ADHD / ADD
Asperger's
Tourettes, etc. etc.
Or, you have a generalized paranoia and distrust for the FDA, USDA, or were injured by foods approved by them, drugs approved by them..
You may be entitled to compensation..
It's happened so many times in the past, and may very likely happen again in the near future. People become sick or injured, involving precisely the things mentioned above, and another class action suit is born. The sad part, is that some of this reads like a satire or twisted mockery of these issues, but it is not.
Am I the only one who wonders how the FDA, and USDA have not been sued for allowing the dangerous and harmful stuff like Roundup, Vioxx, and some poisons in Vaccines clothing to be used in the first place.
Conclusion :
If you were exposed to Roundup® or Glyphosate, one of its key ingredients in roundup, you should take a look at your health and how it was affected after the fact. Then contact a trusted legal professional to oversee your case.
