Why Blue Sky Took A Hard Left.
It's a simple example of supply and demand.
Millions of people were lied to.
The not so new Social Media Platform, is blowing up with new users. Originally founded within Twitter, by then CEO Jack Dorsey in 2019, this was going to be their transition to being an open source platform. The platform went independent in 2021, after a much debated separation by its original creator Jack Dorsey. The platform remained active, and had little bits of slow growth along the way, but never gained the popularity of its parent platform Twitter. Then after the 2024 election.. it blew up.
Here's why, and it all comes down to an odd new system of supply and demand. One that was only born recently in the social media era. The product being supplied is comfort, in the form of confirmation bias with very little opposing viewpoint in the search for it. They were lied to about everything in the news, from the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax of 2016, to the Joe Biden is Sharp and Fit narrative in early to mid 2024. The examples in between are endless, from the hoax known as the “very fine people” narrative, to the more recent Trump said put Liz Cheney in front of a firing squad lie. Their whole reality, and the perception they had of the other half of the American population, and their preferred candidate was all built on a platform of lies. Then the election happened.
The Jenga Tower of lies holding up their reality has begun to crumble. They panic, and begin having absolute mental breakdowns. The truth that was being suppressed to hold up their tower of lies, was unchained when Elon Musk purchased Twitter. When Trump later won the election, it fell and Blue sky, was where they landed. They could still have all of their comforting lies, but without being exposed to any moderate, libertarian, or right wing views. They can lie, and bloviate about all of the DEI, and identity based topics, they can still call Trump Hitler, and an assortment of other historically evil names. When someone says Trump actually called groups of Nazis, and known Klan Members “very fine people,” the other people on Blue Sky just nod along, and go I know, isn't it terrible.
My prediction for Blue Sky, is that within 2 years it becomes a twisted version of a digital trans-polycule with very little other posting. Even as of right now, it's a large portion of trans content, and pro Ukraine war propaganda. When the Ukraine war with Russia ends one way or another, Blue Sky is only going to be left with only the Trans Flag brigade.
