I was just talking to my supervisor last night. He was a GM for Dunkin Donuts before coming over to our company.
His regional manager, if memory serves, asked him why he hired no one from India (The Regional was Indian himself) and made statements such as "Americans don't like to work." and "Why did you hire this black girl? You know they don't like to work!"
As such, Jim (not his real name) reported him to HR...who were all Indians, they sided with Regional and they put him in trouble for reporting it.
Yes, systemic racism is still a thing but aiming it at a certain group these days is celebrated rather than not.
